I was born in Ipswich, Suffolk and from a very early age I just knew I wanted to be an artist. I studied graphic design and illustration at Colchester School of Art and Norwich School of Art culminating in a B.A. (Hons) in 1984.
After running my own graphic design business for 25 years, in 2017 I returned to watercolours, a medium that I have always loved, painting seascapes and landscapes. Not the easiest of mediums to use, which is really part of its charm, the unpredictability of how it will ebb and flow. I love painting the coastline, creeks, estuaries and landscapes of Suffolk and Essex. A constant source of inspiration, delight and fascination.
As well as my watercolour work, I also create semi-abstract mixed media collages. This involves cutting, tearing and fitting together pre-painted textured and patterned pieces of paper to create an image.
